About the UM-MSA
The Muslim Student Association at the University of Manitoba was started by a few student back in the 1970's and served the entire Muslim Community in Winnipeg. It was the only place to offer Friday prayers. Now we are one of the largest student groups on campus. There are members who are graduate students, undergraduate students, and even faculty members. The UM-MSA is the most diverse student body, with members from Canada, Trinidad Senegal, Morocco,Turkey, Saudi Arabia, Iran, Pakistan, India, Indonesia, and many more.
One of the UM-MSA purposes is to serve the needs of the Muslim students on campus. We have many services and activities going on and a lot that are in the planning phases. Just to name a few there are daily prayers in our very own prayer room(EITC3-160) as well as the weekly Friday prayer(Juma). As well we were able to provide food for fast breaking during the month of Ramadan.
